Dovetail Live Forums Update – October 21st 2026

Oct 21, 2026

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to take action to deactivate our community DTL Forums temporarily.
The forums have been disabled in relation to the critical vulnerability discovered in PHP this week. Similar to many sites across the web, we have done this as a precautionary measure to protect your personal data, and the forums will remain disabled until we are able to move them to the new, secure PHP version.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes. In the meantime, we will continue to share updates and news on our Discord, Socials and News Articles, linked below:
We don’t yet have an ETA on a resolution, but we will keep you informed on any further developments as they come. Thank you for understanding.

Update: 23rd October 2026

We wanted to provide an update on our initial investigations into the PHP security breach, and what that means for our forums, before the weekend.
Simply put, the update patch for PHP, provided after the bug became known, is incompatible with the software we use for these forums.
This means that there is a high likelihood that the forums will be down for weeks - possibly longer - as we work on an upgrade plan for the software. Usually, we would be able to do a project like this without any interruption to the live service, but given the security implications, we will have to do this work whilst the forums remain inactive.
When we have more details of our plan, and the timescales associated with it, we will let you know. At this stage, we're investigating a variety of options. In the world of an ever-changing digital landscape, we want to ensure we're making the best decision for the long-term future of the forum community.
If you have entered the Railshots Competition via the forums, we urge you to re-enter via our Discord until this issue has been resolved.
We appreciate this may not be the good news you were hoping for, and that it will be frustrating to hear. We are, however, not prepared to put our systems and your personal data at risk whilst we're unable to upgrade to the secure patch. We hope you understand, and we hope that the end outcome will provide a better experience for us all.
Thanks for your understanding and patience.
