1. Roomba Combo j9+

The Roomba Combo j9+ is one of the most sophisticated 2-in-1 robot vacuums and mop cleaners currently on the market. It has a sleek, self-emptying Clean Base which can be used to store up to two mopping cycles. It's designed to look and feel like a desk. It's also the only robotic mop we've tested that comes with an onboard water reservoir to automatically wash and refill the cleaning pads after each vacuum and mopping cycle.

The mopping arm sits unobtrusively on the top of the unit until it spots hard floors, then it lowers to begin scrubbing. It moves slowly and carefully over surfaces to ensure that it doesn't accidentally spill wet spills or mud across carpeted areas. It also does a fantastic job in keeping itself clear of cords, furniture and other obstacles.

It's smarter than most robot vacs, too due to the iRobot Home app, which lets you customize your cleaning settings prioritize rooms based on dirtiness, set cleaning times and schedules, and more. The app also provides detailed maps of your home, seasonal suggestions and custom cleaning routines and intuitive smart-home integrations.

This robot vac/mop uses iRobot’s Imprint Smart Mapping Technology to recognize objects such as tables, sofas and counters. And it can be controlled by Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri to make cleaning your home hands-free.

Contrary to other mopping and vacuum robots, the Roomba j9+ creates a complete map of your home 7x faster than the previous models and also labels each space by floor type, ensuring that it will always remember to vacuum or mop the area you want. In terms of navigation, the M12 utilizes LiDAR, IR, and 3D structured light to avoid obstacles. Its sensors do a good job of detecting large objects like HVAC vents and furniture. They may have difficulty detecting smaller objects, such as cables or small rags. This can cause robots to miss areas.

The M12 is also able to detect and navigate up stairs thanks to its built-in inclinometer. It also has the ability to automatically return to its OMNI station to clean and dry its mop brushes, and then refill its water tanks. When the batteries are exhausted, the OMNI Station can even clean itself and empty the trash bin when the batteries are depleted.

Like its predecessors as well, like its predecessors, the S8 MaxV Ultra features an intelligent system that can recognize household objects like shoes and pet waste with cameras and LIDAR combination. It was a great performer in our obstacle avoidance evaluation and had only one issue during my testing (it was stuck while unwinding a ball of wool that was caught in its brush arm).

5. Eufy S1 Pro

The Eufy S1 Pro is an amazingly powerful vacuum and mop combination that was designed to be user-friendly. The gunmetal base station automatically fills its own tank of clean water, then empty the dustbin into a smaller bin and washes and drys its own mop pads during cleaning sessions. It is equipped with advanced features that allow it to switch between hard and carpet surfaces, and eliminate pet hair from carpets and clean high-level thresholds in rooms.

The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping, thanks to the internal dToF system. It is able to maintain an unobtrusive appearance while providing the best in object detection. It can drive close to walls and avoid steps without falling. It also raises the mop when driving on rugs or short-pile carpets.
